GIGA is situated near the railway station is Hiroshima. It is one of many
typical commercial centres in Japan, a cluster of shops and service providers. However, what strikes a visitor from Europe is the accumulation of sounds intended to drown each other out, constituting a hardly bearable wall of noise. The recording was intended to be a “stroll” between the floors of the centre, capturing this intolerable phenomenon, its dynamic, intensity and complexity.

GIGA znajduje się niedaleko dworca kolejowego w Hiroshimie. To jedno z wielu typowych centrów handlowych w Japonii, skupiające sklepy i punkty usługowe. Tym jednak, co w takiej przestrzeni zwraca wyraźną uwagę gościa z Europy, jest nagromadzenie próbujących zagłuszyć się wzajemnie dźwięków, tworzące ścianę hałasu o trudnym do przyswojenia natężeniu. Zarejestrowane nagranie w swoim założeniu miało być „przechadzką” między piętrami centrum handlowego i obserwacją tego nieznośnego fenomenu, jego dynamiki, intensywności i złożoności.
