Released in 2014 together with a sound comic, Bartek Kujawski’s first short story under the title Szczupak (Pike) turned out to be a surprise. Young Polish sound artists had never used narrative-based forms of expression before. One year later, virtually every publishing company and critic preparing the annual summary had to face the return of the radio play as a genre. However, Szczupak still remains one of the most interesting attempts, both in terms of drama and form, at combining the contemporary experimental sound creation with a phantasmagorical story and the spoken word. At the invitation of SURVIVAL’s Sound Art Forum, Bartek Kujawski has prepared a spatial drama based on fragments of his still unpublished newest book.

Wydane w roku 2014 wraz z komiksem dźwiękowym pierwsze opowiadanie Bartka Kujwskiego Szczupak było zaskoczeniem. Wcześniej młodzi polscy artyści dźwiękowi praktycznie nie sięgali po narracyjne formy wyrazu. Rok później praktycznie każda oficyna wydawnicza i krytyk publikujący roczne podsumowanie musieli zmierzyć się z powrotem formy słuchowiskowej. Mimo to Szczupak nadal jest jedną z najciekawszych dramatycznie i formlanie prób połączenia współczesnej poszukującej kreacji dźwiękowej z fantasmagoryczną historią i słowem mówionym. Na zaproszenie Sceny Dźwiękowej Survivalu Bartek Kujawski przygotował przestrzenne słuchowisko bazujące na fragmencie jego nowej, jeszcze nie wydanej książki.
